New Servers in Iceland and Czech Republic
Posted by CyberGhost VPN - Robert Knapp in News, Technics
Hello Ghosties! We know you’re into novelties, so we will share some news with you. From today on, the range of servers you can choose to connect to became significantly wider with our new servers located in the Czech republic and Iceland. You have seven new IPs, five in Reykjavík, and two in Prague.
We must admit that it wasn’t easy for us to pick a location-we have dozens of ideas- but after long deliberations and thorough documentation, we’ve reached the conclusion that Iceland would make a great place for a new server.
Why? Because since a few years ago, Iceland gained a reputation as a Safe Harbour.. It all started in 2010, when the Iceland Parliament passed a worldwide unique law granting the journalists the largest possible freedom ever. Involved in its elaboration had been Julian Assange, carrier of the whistleblowing platform Wikileaks, and the ‚Icelandic Modern Media Iniative (IMMI) that came up with the idea in the first place. The law protects journalists and their sources among others from expensive law suites in favor to browbeat them, but also includes the establishing of server pools for civil rights activists worldwide to store their data safe and avoid repressive measures.
So connect to one of the servers and enjoy the freedom, privacy and security you deserve, without a worry in the world. And don’t forget to stay tuned, because we have more surprises in store, on the following days!
